What is the Spanish IPREM?
IPREM is the abbreviation for Indicador Público de Rentas de Efectos Múltiples. It is an index used in Spain to calculate grants and aids for applicants seeking government benefits.
The IPREM is an important concept for non-EU Citizens, like British Passport holders, who are applying for a Spanish non-lucrative visa. The amount of money a NLV applicant will have to show each month as part of their application is 400% of the IPREM for a single applicant and a further 100% of IPREM for a spouse. As of January 2024 that figures are the equivalent of €2,400 p.c.m. for the first applicant and €600 p.c.m. for a dependant spouse.
